Sinful Sunday – Nervous

Standing there, waiting with nervous excitement. My heart beating ten to the dozen, my stomach in knots.

I can hear her footsteps winding up the stairs, every step ticking loudly like a clock.

The hours pass, as we unwind into the bed, chatting, kissing, fucking.

My arm reaches across the bed, but nothing, just the space where she was lay.

The morning light starting to beam though the window. The beginning of a new chapter.

  3. I really really loved this, I was imaging the activity and the enjoyment and the weirdness that she left an empty space

    Ooo lovely.
I could really feel the anticipation here…

  5. Really love this – beautiful set of photos x

  6. What an amazing staircase and looks like a fabulous view too. I am intrigued by this building

    • The building is a 16th century country house, part of a grange to a Priory for the 12th Century. It is a lovely place. Quirky with many of its original features.

I loved this. It captures the excitement/anxiety, and the joy so well.

And the bittersweet quality of a lover’s departure. Their absence, but all the thing in your body and the bed that tell you they were there.

Great photo set, and great text!

  12. These images, for me, conjure a sort of sad forlorn-ness…

The words indicate anticipation and enjoyment, but the photos seem to say something different. It’s an evocative contrast.

I’m particularly drawn to the photo of you in the half-empty bed. The position you’re in is reminiscent of embracing a ghost. It says, “Come, lay your head on my chest.” Yet there’s no one there.

  13. I do love the building you are in, it’s beautiful! And you’ve captured the anticipation and bittersweet sadness perfectly with your words.

  14. The buildings are marvellous and I love how you incorporated them into the story with such emotion.

  15. Wonderful post! Xx

  16. The pictures are missing someone. It is as if we just missed them gliding up the stairs, getting up from the bed, or rushing off down the path and through the gate. Very wistful.
